Pictured are The Cypress Tree Vessels, that will be featured in my forthcoming exhibition, Walking into the River. The Vessels hold the immense beauty and love I have for the Cypress trees in Texas. They will hold sounds from regional rivers during the exhibition. The image includes a human as the works are about our human appreciation of the vivacious life, shade and shelter offered by our Cypress trees.
The images shows the meticulous detail of terra sigillata and wild clay slip on the surface of the vessels, contributing to the embodied feeling of being in the presence of immensity. It also pictures a relief carving of a Diamondback Snake, a common snake in SanAntonio's regional rivers
